What's Wrong With This Picture?

Dan Rather was just closing the news with a story about an amputee dolphin who was just given a prosthetic fin. He closed the story by saying something like, "It looks like Fuji got her groove back." I could tell he was just dying inside as he said it. People Dan Rather's age have no business trying to say stuff like that. It's like hearing Katie Couric use the term bling bling in a fashion segment (I was subjected to that line yesterday morning).

...more to come...

Oh that Fuji, she is one groovy dolphin. I feel your pain, but I think most people- not just Dan Rather, should be excluded from saying that. One of the most grating expressions, I would have to say, is "you go girl"... especially coming from white people who think they're cool... Once expressions get over-used, people ought to pick up on that, and not continue to use them and annoy and embarrass everyone else in close proximity. But then, who would we have to compare ourselves to, and make our nerdy selves feel cooler in doing so?

Good point. I did feel a lot cooler after hearing Dan Rather say that. I have to say, I haven't heard a "talk to the hand" for quite a while. Maybe that one has finally gone the way of the dodo.

You're right about "you go girl." It is one of the worst. When you add the finger snaps that often accompany it, it officially becomes the worst.

(Sidebar: Fiji isn't actually an amputee. It was a mysterious flesh eating disease that made her lose her fin. Ooops.)

oooh flesh eating virus? So the plot thickens... perhaps even congeals, rather like jello...
