Quick Update

I thought I would throw up one more quick post for today. This is two in one day, which is sort of a record of late. I just finished watching Garden State, which everyone and their mother already saw by now, and I fucking loved it. Great movie. I downloaded a near perfect copy of it, so it was even better because I didn't have to pay to see it. I kept meaning to go and rent it, but for some reason I never did.

I didn't get the call today about that job, so I decided to be a pest and call a couple of times myself until I finally talked to the vice president. He was supposed to call me by the end of the day today to schedule a time on Friday for the final interview, but that didn't happen either. It could be a bad sign, but when I spoke to him today he said he was working on a huge project. So that could be the reason for the silence. We shall have to see what happens.

Alright, I don't have the brain power for anything significant right now. Good night.

i adored garden state the first time i saw it (i immediately went and bought it - there are so few i love i don't mind paying for one when i do). and the second. the third time i started to be irritated by the ending. it is still good, but i wish it had ended a little sooner - like when the shit was still fucked up but you knew it was going to be alright. maybe after the standing on the edge thing (a nice reference to the catcher in the rye). sometimes there is such a thing as too much closure. but it's still a movie i put in just to have something comforting on.

WARNING: To anyone who hasn't yet seen the movie, do not read this comment (unless you don't mind having the ending ruined).

Now that you mention it, I see what you mean. I had kind of resigned myself to the fact that he was leaving, and I was fine with it, but then there was the happy ending. Happy endings are good, but not necessarily realistic.

It was a great movie though. I feel like an idiot for waiting so many months to finally see it.

definately still worthwhile. how long did it take you to figure out you were going to love it? i knew i had to own it after about 20 minutes by which time: 1. coldplay's "don't panic" had come on, 2. his shirt camouflaged him in the bathroom mirror, 3. he wakes up on the couch and the knight in shining armor looks at him and there is that whole uncomfortable (but perfect) scene at the kitchen table, and finally tim, the knight, says " by the way, it says 'balls' on your face."

the reality of the whole movie is what is awesome about it. the reality of unpretty life. that is why the end bothers me so much. but maybe i've become jaded in my old age.
"he's just a fast-food knight."

Most definitely an awesome movie, but you've already heard that from me. Glad you liked it skrambly.

i really really love scrubs, and this movie had it's funny moments (the shirt that matches the wallpaper) but it wasn't the rollicking hilarious movie i kind of expected...this makes me sound like an idiot who doens't like it unless there is an explosion or a fart joke, which i am not...i guess it took me a bit by surprise, i was expecting somehting else...i liked it a lot, just not as much as everyone else did...

i gotta say, i am as anxious about you getting the job as you are...dammit, i can't stand the suspense..you want me to talk to the guy?....

Garden Sound track is a nice watch. Definitely agree with you about the "Happy endings are good, but not necessarily realistic." point!

I loved the sound track!

Thanks retarius, but that may not be necessary. I just had my final interview (see new post), and it sounds like they want to hire me. If he changes his mind I may need you to talk to him, but we'll have to see about that.

And Jugular, you're right, the soundtrack rocks. I downloaded a bunch of Shins songs as I watched it (I'm such a criminal. The RIAA is probably going to come after me now). I'm listening to it right now, and really digging it.
