Return to Normalcy

picture from here

"Only the wisest and stupidest of men never change."
--Confucious

Holy shit. The idea of having any semblance of stability in my life is just blowing my mind right now. It’s been a rough month. Over the last several weeks this blog has become a case study in getting fired--except they don't call it that when you're a lowly temporary employee. I think they were pretty sure that I'd take the csr position they offered me. I felt like I was being trading traded to the Yankees, and my options were to take it or leave it. I'm fairly certain I made the right choice in leaving it.

With that said, I can now focus my mental energy on other things here, which is a very good thing. I'll be starting the new job on Monday, and I'm feeling really positive about it. They seem to feel really good about it too, which is even more important in the beginning. I'll write more about it in time. For now I just need to relax.

Here is something random that I stumbled upon:

All but Death, can be Adjusted—
Dynasties repaired—
Systems—settled in their Sockets—
Citadels—dissolved—

Wastes of Lives—resown with Colors
By Succeeding Springs—
Death—unto itself—Exception—
Is exempt from Change—

--Emily Dickinson

Congrats on the new job! Hopefully for at least the next little while things will settle down and you'll be able to coast a bit.

Thanks guys. It is a great feeling to finally have a real job.

And Jenn, I love Emily too. She was able to convey so much with the fewest number of words possible. And she wrote so many poems that I'm constantly finding new ones that I like.

i'm not trying to be bitchy, but she spelled it dickinson. i think i'm going to post a poem of hers that i've had my eye on for blogworld for a while now. i'll drop you a liner note.
ps. don't start slacking on your posting just because you're all important now and have a fancy job and stuff ;).

Thanks GG. I don't mind being corrected at all. In fact, I would be annoyed if someone noticed a mistake here and didn't point it out.

It's kind of like having a booger hanging from your nose and not having anyone tell you about. So, instead of putting you through a minor embarassment by pointing it out, they just snicker and laugh at you behind your back.

At any rate, I think I copied the misspelling from where I found the poem, but I should have noticed. I shall correct it.
