Say What?!?
Holy crap. I was just reading through the news and I came across this story, which includes Donald Rumsfeld quoting George Orwell. "Radical Islamists do not seek an armistice with the civilized world. They will not negotiate a separate peace. Rather they seek to impose the totalitarian rule George Orwell described as 'a boot stomping on a human face -- forever'," Rumsfeld said. Poor Orwell is rolling in his grave right now.The Bush administration has written the book on Newspeak. Just to name a few examples: the Clear Skies initiative which allows for more pollution, the Healthy Forests initiative which eliminates the forests, the Patriot Act which elliminates the freedoms that patriotic Americans are supposed to hold dear, starting wars to create peace, saving Social Security by destroying it. . .I could go on and on, but we'd be here forever.
